Dr. Joseph Felton and Sophie Felton, both chemists, built the company’s earliest relationships with growers, extractors, and aroma chemical suppliers. From their Brooklyn basement, they developed iconic formulas and laid the groundwork for the innovative flavor and fragrance development we carry forward today.

Across generations, leaders like David Weisman and Ira Kapp expanded the business into a respected name in the global flavor and fragrance industry. Building on their scientific expertise and deep supplier partnerships, Arthur Kapp and Henry Manship evolved the company into Elan Flavors & Fragrances.
